A new Venera Arapu store opened in Bucharest , in the Piata Floreasca area of Bucharest. It is the Romanian designer’s first store opening in three years. The location currently accommodates the designer’s 2011-2012 collection, and creations of young designers promoted in the Vitrina.
Gaming competition DreamHack holds first Balkan chapter in Romania
Gaming competition DreamHack is organizing for the first time this year a Balkan chapter where teams coming from Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Croatia and Hungary will compete. The event, which is organized by Computer Games and Professional Gamers League (PGL) will take place on November 5 and 6 in Constanta, at Forte Games.
First collection by Romanian painter Grigorescu goes on sale at Artmark fall auction
Five paintings by Romanian artist Nicolae Grigorescu will be on sale at the Artmark art auction set to take place on October 20. The high number of paintings by the artist in one sale is a first for the Romanian market. The starting price for the prices is approximately 10 percent of the sale price of similar works at recent art auctions.

European Parliament adds Romanian and Bulgarian works to contemporary art collection
The European Parliament has added works by Romanian and Bulgarian contemporary artists to its art collection comprising items from EU member states. The works were bought in 2011 for a combined total amount of EUR 99,100.

Romanian animation film Crulic at local cinema halls starting October 21
After being shown at several international film festivals, among which the Locarno one, Crulic- the path to beyond (Crulic- drumul spre dincolo), the first Romanian animation film in the past 20 years, will be shown in local cinemas starting October 21.
French Film festival brings Carole Bouquet back to Bucharest
The 15th edition of the French Film festival, set to take place between October 21-28, will see actress Carole Bouquet returning to Bucharest. The festival selection includes 22 films, nine premiers, and six Cannes movies.
