<title>Romanian coaches bring a design for life onto a still skeptical market</title>
<link>http://business-review.ro/balance/romanian-coaches-bring-a-design-for-life-onto-a-still-skeptical-market/9658/</link>
<description>&amp;ldquo;A-ha! That&amp;rsquo;s something I never thought of!&amp;rdquo; is a common phrase for life and business coaches in Romania to hear from their clients during their first sessions. In a society of people taught from an early age that a job is best done by oneself, more and more people are now turning to professionals for advice regarding their career and lifestyle. Romanian life and business coaches explain how the profession has established itself in recent years and point out the directions in which it is set to evolve.

<title>Greece continues to tempt Romanian tourists despite drama</title>
<link>http://business-review.ro/balance/greece-continues-to-tempt-romanian-tourists-despite-drama/9539/</link>
<description>Greece is pinning its hopes on tourism for its economic revival, but as the recession continues to linger in Europe, 2010 isn&amp;rsquo;t bringing a sunny outlook so far. But back in Romania, where the Balkan country is already a popular destination, local operators say that price decreases and special offers will boost Romanians&amp;rsquo; appetite for a Greek vacation this summer.

<title>Online book stores look to the next chapter</title>
<link>http://business-review.ro/balance/online-book-stores-look-to-the-next-chapter/9510/</link>
<description>Although Romania generally embraces global trends, many people still don&amp;rsquo;t trust online payment services, with card payment relatively low and a general skepticism over electronic payment. Online bookshops are, however, a growing trend on the market, along with other online-related services, prepared for the worst due to the crisis and old mentalities, yet hoping for the best with an extending market segment&amp;rsquo;s openness towards innovation and international trends.

<title>Luxury travel doesnt lose its bling</title>
<link>http://business-review.ro/balance/luxury-travel-doesn-t-lose-its-bling/9449/</link>
<description>Hiring a personal travel planner isn&amp;rsquo;t exactly a common occurrence for the average Romanian and extravagant customized holidays would seem set to become more and more out of reach to the majority. But Anca Nichifor, managing director of Jet Set Planner, a local company offering personal travel planning services, told Business Review that there is an increasing demand for this type of service and the market is expected to grow.

<title>Sailing school says ahoy to adrift professionals</title>
<link>http://business-review.ro/balance/sailing-school-says-ahoy-to-adrift-professionals/9371/</link>
<description>Last week saw the opening of the Romanian Nautical College, which aims to offer an alternative for professional reconversion to those considering a life at sea. The college was started following an initial investment in excess of EUR 1 million, but this will only be the tip of the iceberg as more investments will follow in the coming years. Financing the project are the Marcu brothers, major shareholders in the Medlife network, who teamed up with Stelian Cojocaru, manager of the college.

<title>Sun, sand and saving as tourists stay closer to home</title>
<link>http://business-review.ro/balance/sun-sand-and-saving-as-tourists-stay-closer-to-home/9244/</link>
<description>As the recession exerts pressure on expenses, tourists in Romania have had to lower their aspirations. This has meant that they have either decided to spend their holiday in Romania rather than go abroad, or chosen cheaper alternatives and destinations. The May 1 mini-break opened the summer season and signs are encouraging as pundits in the field were not expecting that many people to travel.

<description>When I met Master Keisen, a Zen Monk, on April 22, he was sitting at a table, wearing his traditional robe, waiting for the &amp;ldquo;Quantum Zen&amp;rdquo; press conference to begin, at the Romanian Peasant Club in Bucharest.

<title>In pursuit of a healthy profit</title>
<link>http://business-review.ro/balance/in-pursuit-of-a-healthy-profit/9086/</link>
<description>Despite the stricken state of the local market, natural food supplements were robust enough to consistently grow last year. Lucia Costea, managing partner at Secom, told Business Review that the company had increased its revenues by 75 percent in 2009 and developed its distribution network with collaborators such as Sensiblu, Plafar and HelpNet pharmaceutical chains. This year it is planning to expand its medical representatives team, up turnover by 67 percent and double its market share.

<title>Cycling goes up a gear despite authorities spoke in the wheel</title>
<link>http://business-review.ro/balance/cycling-goes-up-a-gear-despite-authorities-spoke-in-the-wheel/9076/</link>
<description>Bucharest is now in a painful transition period, from an unfriendly, car-dominated city into a European capital where alternative traffic should be allowed and respected. Paradoxically, just as efforts are underway to give other parties, not just drivers, more rights, along comes the so-called &amp;lsquo;angry driver syndrome&amp;rsquo; which is taking a heavy toll on the country&amp;rsquo;s streets. Where do bikers stand in all this? It appears some new bike rental/sharing centers will open in town, for their leisure.
